Dig out your crop tops and start hydrating, it’s almost Lollapalooza 2017. Whether you managed to nab a ticket to the festival or you’re watching from the sidelines, here’s how you can make the most of this weekend.
Make Your Own Flower Crown at Travelle Kitchen & Bar
On Wednesday, August 2 from 6 – 8 p.m., a floral designer from Flowers for Dreams will teach a pre-Lollapalooza floral crown-arranging workshop at Travelle Kitchen + Bar. The event is $75 per person and includes the class, a flower crown, appetizers, and sparkling wine.
Lolla Live Stream at Marshall’s Landing
Stuck at work Thursday and Friday? Sneak away to Marshall’s Landing, the newest restaurant at the Merchandise Mart, during your lunch break or for post-office happy hour. The restaurant will be live-streaming the event on the Mart’s massive projection screen in the grand staircase, and offering drink specials including $6 Vodka Red Bulls, $6 Rosé, and $3 Coors Light and Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy.
DJ and Dinos at the Blackstone
The Blackstone Hotel will host a special Lollapalooza party event, DJ and Dinos, during its weekly Blackstone Beats live music series on Friday, August 4. The event combines DJ sets themed around “Jurassic World: The Exhibition,” now on display at Chicago’s Field Museum. The event is complimentary and open to the public.
Chris Masterson & Jerzy Afterparty at Sub 51
Kick off Lollapalooza afterparties on Friday, August 4 with DJs Chris Masterson and Jerzy, both renowned in the dance-music world, who will be taking to the stage all night long at Sub 51. Doors open at 11 PM; inquire for a table here.
Free Cookie with Your Lolla Wristband at Beatrix on Friday
As if going to the festival weren’t exciting enough: Day 2 of Lollapalooza will be extra sweet this year, landing on National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day. On Friday, August 4, head to Beatrix and flash your Lollapalooza wristband to receive a complimentary mini Chocolate Chunk Cookie (limit 1 per person, dine-In only, while supplies last).
LIKEtoKNOW.it Mural Walls at Perry Stage
Tap into your inner blogger and strike a pose: LIKEtoKNOW.it has partnered with Lolla and Chicago artist Justus Roe to create one of its Instagram-famous He(art) Wall murals. Rumor has it that local fashion influencers like Jenn Lake, Olivia Rink, and Hallie Wilson already have plans to document their festival looks at the spot.
ROOF on the WIT Lollapalooza Afterparties
Keep the Lolla party going at ROOF on the Wit’s aferparties on Thursday, August 3 and Friday, August 4. Friday’s event features the emerging electronic DJ trio, Cheat Codes, who recently collaborated and performed with mega-star Demi Lovato on “No Promises.” Friday’s party stars EDM duo Tritonal. Performances start at 10pm and ROOF on theWit will be open until 2am each night. Tickets and table packages, which range from $50 – $2,000, are available for purchase here.
