As New Yorkers, we either rave about our city, or we desperately whine that we need to “get out,” at least for a few days. And what better time than summer to take yourself from the hustle and bustle to the sandy beaches of Montauk, Miami or Newport? These are the best beach destinations within reach for the wandering New Yorker.

1 EAST, Miami

Make the quick 3-hour flight south to the tropical air and beaches of Miami to get a Caribbean vibe without needing your passport. Stay at Brickell's newest lifestyle hotel, EAST, Miami; with their expansive space, sprawling suite views of downtown MIami, Sugar (their happening bar upstairs), and their incredible pools, you may not even need to leave the hotel. However, if you are so inclined, the beach is a quick 15 minute Uber away. The hotel is also conveniently connected to the new Brickell City Centre, a luxury shopping destination with everything you'll ever need to shop during your trip.

Just a short walk from the charming cobblestone streets of Newport, you have the best of the town at your fingertips. Head over to The Pineapple Club to catch a gorgeous waterfront view, order a cocktail, swim and relax.
