Haute Cause: Gild Foundation’s Summer Fundraiser

gild foundation summer 2017 event

The ladies behind Studio Gild are the ultimate example of style and substance. When they’re not running their sought-after interior design business or their Bucktown furniture showroom Gild AssemblyMelissa Benham, Jennie Bishop and Kristen Ekeland are busy with their company’s philanthropic arm, Gild Foundation. The trio started the organization out of their desire to broaden the impact of their business beyond simply creating surface-deep beauty. Or, as the designers like to explain it, “In [our] industry, we often seek levity by reminding one another that ‘we aren’t saving the world.’ With the inception of Gild Foundation, we hope to make a difference.”

Since launching in January 2017, Gild Foundation has raised money for causes like the American Brain Tumor Association, Cycle for Survival, Illinois Cancer Care, The Greater Chicago Food Depository, and Lurie Children’s Hospital through fundraising events and donating a portion of the proceeds from Gild Assembly.

Gild Foundation’s latest effort takes place next Tuesday, June 27th from 6 pm. – 8 p.m. at SPACE 519 in the 900 North Michigan Shops. Attendees will have a chance to shop summer’s hottest looks, get a sneak peek at fall trends and enjoy a complimentary cocktail,  while 15 perfect of the event’s proceeds (along with those from sales made during the day) will go to Gild Foundation causes.
