Quick Hits: View Anish Kapoor’s Newest Installation from 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge
Anish Kapoor’s latest installation, Descension, opened up in the city for the first time ever this week. The installation is located in the backyard of 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge until September 10, 2017. Kapoor is known for his incredible public art installations that often challenge sensory perception. Descension is a dynamic 26-foot in diameter funnel of spiraling water that converges at a central vortex, creating a striking contrast with the adjacent East River.
1 Hotel is offering a unique viewing experience, where locals and guests can enjoy the view within the luxury space. They’ve curated a Whirlpool Package, which features accommodations that boast an exclusive, sought-after view of the piece that is only seen from the hotel along with signature cocktails inspired by the exhibit.
The Whirlpool Package includes:
- Accommodations in the Bridge King rooms and Skyline 1 Bedroom Suite, offering the best views in the house of Descension
- Guests will be treated to complimentary cocktail inspired by the installation
- Cocktail is available to guests and the public for $15 in the Lobby Lounge
- Package will be available for booking from 5/5/17 – 9/10/17 for stays from 5/12/17- 9/10/17
