London is home to some of the most luxurious hotels in the world and you don’t have to spend the night to enjoy the extraordinary surroundings. Here’s our roundup of the coolest hotel lobbies in the capital.

1 ME Hotel

Norman Foster is responsible for the spectacular ME Hotel lobby which offers an unforgettable aesthetic experience. The triangular space is a glistening concoction of black marble and glass, overlaid with expert lighting. Visit in the evenings to enjoy the champagne bar on the same floor and mesmerising projected graphics slipping over the sleek walls.

2 Sanderson Hotel

This lobby does not conform to the rules. Strewn with a combination of pop art pieces and gilded frames housing unorthodox paintings, it's a delight for creative eyes. Take a seat on a pair of Instagrammable lips which require no collagen fillers and absorb your extraordinary surroundings. Otherwise hang out by the 80ft glamorous bar, designed by Philippe Starck, and sip in the scene.

3 The London EDITION

It’s all about working hard and playing harder at the London EDITION. The interior boasts a tasteful combination of historical charm and modern functionality. Be sure to look up at the intricate ceiling accents and elaborate paintings. Join the majestic bar scene, order up a cocktail and opt for a game of snooker.

4 Rosewood London

Based in the central area of Holborn, the glorious Rosewood estate is a welcoming sight. It exudes warmth and style with an interior that bats its eyelashes and begs you to stay for hours. You'll immediately be drawn to the striped black and white marble floor and the many reflective surfaces framed by supple leather and burnished wood. Walls are dominated by gilded art and display cases housing fascinating artifacts.

5 Corinthia Hotel

The designers behind this elaborate lobby decided that neutral colours and pure elegance were just the ticket - and we would have to agree. All attention is directed towards a stunning Baccarat Chandelier which illuminates the soffited ceilings and glossy marble floors. The space emulates effortless style and welcomes visitors with sumptuous seating and bespoke William Edwards' fine china tea sets for a cup of proper English tea. Pinkies up!
