Jeffrey Atlanta Spring Fashion Preview with Special Guest Cathy Waterman
On Wednesday, February 22, the fashion-set gathered for the second annual Spring preview fashion show at Jeffrey Atlanta. This year, special guest, and jeweler to the stars, Cathy Waterman, was there to adorn the models and show off her latest collection of fine jewelry.
The show did not disappoint. Models walked the runway in a menagerie of looks and designers ranging from less-known and up-and-coming like Australian-designer Maticeveski to the quintessential Givenchy. The looks were bold and fun, especially the Gucci explosion look with a bedazzled bomber jacket. Check out some of the looks in the gallery below.
While the models were walking, famed jewelry designer Cathy Waterman, whose jewels have adorned A-list celebrities such as Julia Roberts, Kerry Washington and Nicole Kidman, explained the inspiration behind each piece the models wore.
“It’s about going back to the idea of leisure.” she said.
Incorporating some unique gemstones like Peruvian Opal and Chrysoprase, her pieces were stunning. After the show, the designer gave us a sneak peak at the full spring collection. The must-have? An pinwheel ring that actually spins. Made with ruby, sapphire and emeralds, the flash of light and spark that spins around is mesmerizing, This and many of the other pieces were what she called “a day at the circus”.

Book Signing, Bubbles and Bites: Finding Happiness
Guests gathered Thursday night for a reading and book signing from Santa Monica-based, former model Elena Vasilenka to celebrate her best-selling book “I am Happy: How to Go From Being a ‘Happy Mess’ To Finding True HAPPINESS. Hosted in true Southern hospitality by Lisa Catherall and Chef Tom Catherall, guests packed in to Taco Cowboy to meet and celebrate the author. Crab cakes and pimento cheese on crackers along with bubbly was served to guests upon arrival. Among attendees were Evelyn Mims, Patti Dickey and Sean Gardner.
Vasilenka is an Amazon best-selling author of “I AM HAPPY”, a book on healing depression, eating disorders and other emotional changes, a happiness coach, Shakti Naam Yoga teach, Harmonyum Healing practitioner and board-certified holistic health care. She is the creator of “Naam Yoga Therapies for Happiness” DVD program and “I AM HAPPY” socks collection. She teach Shakti Naam yoga and Naam Happiness workout classes internationally and at the Naam Yoga center in Santa Monica. She has been featured on NBC, Fox News, LA Yoga and Viva Magazines.
