YSL Beauty Launches Two-Day Pop-Up at the Ace Hotel Los Angeles
Beauty lovers, stop what you’re doing today and head downtown to the Ace Hotel Los Angeles, where YSL Beauty is launching its first U.S. location of The Lip Showroom, a two-day pop-up shop focusing on, as you might expect, lip products.
The kiosk, which is located in front of the theater at the Ace, is open from noon to 8 p.m. today and tomorrow. Though the brand offers a plethora of products (it has created 200 shades), only 45 items will be available. Said items include 36 shades of Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain, Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick, Rouge Vulopté Shine and its newest product, which launched in May, the Vinyl Cream Lip Stain. Also expect to shop for five, limited-edition shades of its signature Touche Éclat aluminizing concealer, as well as two fragrances: Black Opium and Mon Paris.
Given that the beauty brand is the first of its kind in America to offer lipstick engraving (with a hashtag, of course, because why wouldn’t you want to share it on social media?!), yes, you will be able to get your lippie engraved at the pop-up; up to 14 characters for free.
So why Los Angeles? According to YSL Beauty‘s VP of Marketing, the pop-up’s first U.S. location was actually prompted by former creative director Hedi Slimane‘s love of Los Angeles. That its newest brand ambassador, Staz Lindes (who succeeds supermodel turned actress Cara Delevingne as the face of YSL Beauty) happens to be born and raised in Venice Beach makes the fit feel even more natural. Lindes, the 23-year-old frontwoman of the band The Paranoyds and daughter of former Dire Straits guitarist Hal Lindes, made her modeling debut at the spring 2016 Saint Laurent show.
The Lip Showroom concept, which originally debuted in Korea last year—traveling to China and Japan before touching down in L.A.—may also head to New York City this fall.
