Expert Advice From Dr.Carlos Wolf: How To Ditch The Double Chin
Nobody likes a double chin, and even less the process of trying to get rid of one. Diet and exercise only go so far when trying to ditch that extra roll under your chin. Depending on the severity of your concerns, there are several non-surgical treatments that you could be eligible for. One of the newer injectable products on the market is Kybella. Kybella is the first FDA-approved injectable treatment to destroy the fat cells and reduce fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, the cells can no longer store or accumulate fat. Therefore, the results of Kybella are PERMANENT.
Treatments are spaced 6 weeks apart and a patient can expect to undergo anywhere from 2-6 treatments, but will begin to notice a difference after their first. For approximately a week following treatment patients can expect to feel tender and a bit swollen (causing more of a double chin). This happens because of a chemical reaction caused during the dissolving of the fat. Once you have completed your treatments and reached your aesthetic goal you won’t need to worry about that double-chin ever again!
As there are multiple treatments available to combat the double chin/turkey neck choosing an experienced facial plastic or plastic surgeon to evaluate you will better ensure you choose the best treatment for your personal concerns. Kybella is a treatment specific to the chin area and it is important for physicians to be selective in choosing the right candidate to undergo the treatment.
