Indulging in a cocktail (or three) is part of life’s greatest pleasures. What is even better than delighting in your favorite cocktail? Raising money for a charitable cause while doing so. Usher in Negroni Week. Presented by Imbibe Magazine and Campari, Negroni Week features over 6,000 participating bars, restaurants and retailers all paying homage to the famous Negroni cocktail, which dates back to 1919 in Florence, Italy. During this time, proceeds from each Negroni variation are donated to a charitable cause. Last year, the infamous week raised more than $320, 000 for a number of charities.
In honor of the week, Campari hosted a snap worthy celebration at Syndicated Bar & Theater. The party featured recipes and riffs on the classic cocktail from bars and restaurants all over the city. Attendees indulged in a number of Negroni variations including cocktails, burgers, popcorn, and candy. In addition, event-goers had the opportunity to vote on their favorite Negroni cocktail. Of those who participated,Tristan Willey’s TINegroni, which featured 1 oz. Campari, 1 oz. Cinzano 1757, 1 ½ oz. Wild Turkey Rye, 1 ¼ oz. water and garnished with a orange twist, stole the night. As the night’s pick, Willey won $1,000 to donate to the American Brain Tumor Association.
