The glitz, glam and culinary prowess of Dubai was on display full-force over the weekend with restaurants snagging multiple international awards and A-listers flocking to visit and support famous Dubai venues.

La Petite Maison Dubai & Zuma on World’s 50 Best Restaurant List

For the fourth time, Dubai-based La Petite Maison, the home of Cuisine Nicoise – is listed in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2016, taking the number 99 spot, together with its Japanese sister restaurant Zuma coming in at number 89. The dynamic duo are the only two restaurants in the region to make the World’s Best list.

Al Reem Bazaar 3 kicked off with a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at WAFI Mall, which was hosted by Eman Al Flamerzi and guest of honor Lojain Omran. A star-studded affair, Al Reem Bazaar 2016 hosted influential guests of honor for 4 consecutive days, including Ameera and Amal Mohammad, Shujoon, Reem Rahma and many more.

This year, the Bazaar once again brought the most exciting talents of the Middle Eastern fashion scene to WAFI Mall, with 100+ GCC women participating in the showcase. The bonanza of fashion, Arabic perfumes and accessories drew more than 60 local fashion houses, startups and designers.

Ahlan Awards Galore for The Hub, Bu!

The sensational dining destination The Hub won multiple honors at the prestigious Ahlan Awards 2016, has highlighted the popularity and success of The Hub, the sensational new premium dining destination that launched at the Mall at World Trade Center Abu Dhabi this April. Bu!, the contemporary, energetic pan-Latin concept, won the Ahlan Abu Dhabi’s Best New Comer Award.

The Ahlan! Awards, ran by the leading lifestyle weekly publication, are seen as the annual celebration of the country’s finest institutions, recognizing the outstanding achievements of the places and people that make the UAE what it is.

The annual awards show was attended by a glamorous crowd of socialites and fashionistas, as Bu! wowed guests with their signature flamboyant entertainment, innovative cocktails and the cutting-edge of Latin American inspired cuisine.

Shangri-La Hotel’s Grand Iftar Dessert A Sweet Success

Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi created a mosque for the Sofra bld Grand Iftar dessert area made entirely out of sugar. The sculpture weighs in at 91.7 kilograms and took six days to build by a team from across the hotel. Engineering and pastry teams worked together to bring a backlit masterpiece to the restaurant.

Shangri-La Hotel’s Ramadan sugar sculpture is a delicious tribute to Ramadan.

The culinary team at Shangri-La hotel dreamt of building the sculpture for Ramadan and each year, the design grows in scale and size. This year there are two creations on both ends of the famous dessert station, with three chocolate-flavored fountains. The ingredients for this iconic display included 70 kilograms of sugar, 14 kilograms of corn flour and 770 grams of gelatine. To light up the edifice, 10 meters of LED lights were installed with five VLED drivers.
