Downtown Design Set To Dazzle
Downtown Design has formally announced their 2016 highlights, and it looks to be yet another stellar year for the Middle East’s only quality-driven design trade fair. Dubai Design Week will take place this October 25-28 and bring together over 100 brands from 25 countries.
Since the first year, Downtown Dubai has become an important fixture in the design calendar for both international brands and buyers. It will once again be held at the Dubai Design District (d3), the creative heart of the city.
Featuring furniture, lighting, bathrooms, kitchens, textiles and accessories, the fair presents an opportunity to discover new launches and fresh talent across categories. First time exhibitor Los Angeles’ furniture and lighting brand Bend Goods will present a collection of playful pieces; Sancal, from Spain, makes its first foray with a standout collection of eclectic furniture and upholstery; and award-winning Dubai-based interior designer Pallavi Dean debuts with her first furniture and accessories collection.

Cities Hosts An Evening of Glamour, Fashion and Décor for the Ladies of Dubai
Hazem Aljser, owner and founder of Cities Art, Design & Lifestyle Store hosted an intimate and elegant outdoor gathering, for Dubai’s most VIP women in a private home in Jumeirah over the weekend.
The stylish garden setting was decorated exclusively by Cities with intricate décor items, large artistic sculptures, one-of- a-kind Arabesque pieces, and delicate candles.
The sophisticated set mingled over innovative gastronomic delicacies with an Arabic twist, fresh organic juices and the traditional Ramadan drink of Jallab. The classical Qanun player provided the perfect musical backdrop to the elegant Arabian affair, which celebrated the true beauty of Arabesque design with a contemporary Cities touch.
The highlight of the evening was the beautiful selection of high-end Abayas and Kaftans designed by Orient 499 and DINA JSR, which were displayed on funky mannequins throughout the garden and inside the house. The chic and unique collection by renowned regional designers is available at both The Dubai Mall and Galleria Mall locations of Cities.
