Eating has always been a social endeavor. In the past decade we have seen food being shared in an entirely new way, through social media. Instagram and food have become two peas in a beneficial pod. They have become so integral to each other that businesses have literally been born through their relationship. There are now countless Instagram food blogs that make the big bucks off of posting the best #foodporn in cities around the world. New York City however, is certainly the Instagram foodie’s favorite.
The social media platform has the power to drive thousands of new customers into a venue. Restaurants now even curate ‘Instagram worthy’ dishes they know will attract food bloggers who in turn will reach a broader audience. All in the name of consumer marketing! We decided to take a look into which New York City establishments have most successfully implemented Instagram into their culinary philosophy.
