Jake Gyllenhaal and Naomi Watts at The Cinema Society and Fox Searchlight Pictures premiere of Demolition

The Cinema Society with Fox Searchlight Pictures recently held a posh screening for their latest film, Demolition, starring two fabulous New Yorkers, Naomi Watts and Jake Gyllenhaal. The after-party took place at The Top of the Standard and drew a high-profile crowd, including (from the film) Gyllenhaal and Watts, Chris Cooper, and Polly Draper, along with producers Lianne Halfon, Russ Smith, Carla Hacken, Trent Luckinbill, Thad Luckinbill, and Molly Smith

The movie features Gyllenhall, as a successful investment banker Davis Mitchell, grieving over the loss of his wife who dies in a car crash. Chris Cooper, as the father-in-law, pressures Gyllenhaal to get his life back on track. Which Mitchell does, somewhat unusually for an I-banker, by connecting with a customer service rep (Naomi Watts) after he writes a complaint letter to her company.  Watts portrays a woman with plenty of emotional baggage of her own and…well…we’ll let you find out the rest when the movie opens on April 8th. The movie was filmed in and around New York including Coney Island, Greenwich Street, and JFK International Airport.

Guests toasting the Demoltion team at the Standard included Roger Waters, Jon Bon Jovi, Fisher Stevens, Helena Christensen, Clive Davis, Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Girls), Tony Shalhoub & Brooke Adams, Julian Sands, Nat Wolff (Paper Towns, The Fault in our Stars), Alex Wolff (In Treatment, The Naked Brothers Band), Danny Strong (Girls, Mad Men), Ralph Macchio, Allan Loeb, Michelle Collins (The View), Laura Michelle Kelly (Finding Neverland), Chris Botti, Ahna O’Reilly (The Help), Casey LaBow (Twilight), Tristine Skyler, Sandra Brant, Nina Agdal, June Ambrose, Chris Benz, Celine Rattray, Anne McNally, Daniel Benedict, Alex Lundqvist, Alexandra Agoston, Ben Watts, Christian Campbell & America Olivo, RJ King, Camilla Staerk, Eric “Elew” Lewis, and Cinema Society founder Andrew Saffir
