On the latest episode of Vogue’s podcast, host André Leon Talley was joined by her holiness Anna Wintour. The two discussed the highly talked about May issue, which features an edgier Taylor Swift as well as the Met Gala.

Here are a few highlights from the 21-minute-long podcast.

On Swift’s new look

Talley notes how different Swift looks and asks Wintour, “What were you looking for? To remake her? To give her a great makeover? She looks wonderful, but it’s very unusual to see Taylor Swift.”

Wintour responds, “We thought that we could take Taylor — who is a beautiful, beautiful girl but has been a little bit more conservative in her fashion choices and turn her into an Hedi Slimane rock n’ roll girl. What was so great was that she was completely up for it and loved it, and is going to hopefully continue with this look.”

On what Swift will wear to the Met Gala and her role as co-chair

Wintour said,” I cannot reveal what Taylor is going to be wearing, but having seen the sketches I think she’s going to look fantastic.”

As for Swift being co-chair, Wintour revealed the details to when she asked the country singer-turned-pop star. She said, “She [Swift] was so wonderful when I first rang her up months and months ago to ask her if she would co-chair I mean she called me back within minutes and said she would be thrilled and she’s been very interested in the theme of the exhibition and how she can dress in an appropriate fashion and I think that she’s going to go for it.”

Talley asks Wintour why does she think Swift was a good fit for this role as co-chair and also this theme Manus x Machina”? She said, “Well obviously her connection to technology was one of the reasons that we wanted to see if she would care to be involved but I also think that she is an icon to many young girls all over the world and we want a different audience to come to this exhibition I think because of its theme and because of our wonderful sponsors, Apple, I think that there is a lot of interests out there in people that might not normally come to the Met and I think Taylor will help bring that interests to us.”
