It seems that every other week New York City has a new hotspot du jour. This week, it happens to be Aby Rosen’s latest property opening The Blond. Located at Rosen’s modern hotel 11 Howard; the intimate lounge is the new go-to for every haute socialite and celebrity. Martha Hunt, Cuba Gooding Jr., Jasmine Tookes, Brian Atwood and iLokeMakkonen were only a handful of the stars who came out to celebrate the sleek grand opening.

The lavish lounge was designed by Anda Andrei with SPACE Copenhagen. Picture plush velvet furniture accented by a timeless artwork by Dan Attoe. His piece, Complicated Animals, 2008, is a mixed media sculpture made of neon lights, animation, wires and transformers that sits pretty on the ceiling directly above the grand staircase that leads into The Blond. Paired with the incredible statue heads of sculptor Charming Baker which line the windowsills, and you have an incredible collection by anyone’s standards.

The Blond’s opening came just after the 11 Howard reveal. The new Soho development will welcome guests beginning April 2016. Much like The Blond, the hotel also boasts an impressive collection of artwork. Upon entering you will be greeted by a mobile Alexander Calder, which seems to perfectly reflect the industrial yet welcoming ambiance of the hotel. Other artists shown throughout the property include Nobuyoshi Araki, Holly Fowler, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Saint Claire Cemin, Jacques-Henri Lartique, Jacco Olivier, Katie Yang, among others.

The opening of The Blond precedes the grand opening of 11 Howard, the New York hotel that will welcome guests starting April 2016. Upon entering the hotel, an Alexander Calder mobile greets guests as they enter the main doors, a highlight of the artwork seamlessly weaved into the industrial yet warm aesthetic of the hotel. Other artists shown throughout the property include Nobuyoshi Araki, Holly Fowler, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Saint Claire Cemin, Jacques-Henri Lartique, Jacco Olivier, Katie Yang, among others.

But let’s get back to The Blond. No matter what time of day, this space is designed to welcome, relax, and create an open platform for conversation. In the morning you can find visitors reading the paper or gathering for a meeting of the minds. In the evening, you’ll find a new crowd enjoying drinks and world-class DJs with a vibrant ambiance. Let’s just say it’s your new Soho go-to when you have everything or nothing to do!
