On Friday evening, M·A·C Cosmetics and Dita Von Teese celebrated the launch of her new lipstick during an intimate cocktail party at M·A·C North Beverly in Beverly Hills. During the event, guests including Liz Goldwyn, models Mosh and Angelique Noire, M•A•C Cosmetics Director of Makeup Artistry Gregory Arlt (who also happens to be Dita’s personal makeup artist), along with Albert Sanchez (who photographed her book) and more celebrated the queen of seduction and enjoyed the sounds of DJ Myles Hendrik. Inspired by her new beauty book, Your Beauty Mark, her limited-edition tomato red lipstick “Von Teese”—inspired by the decadent, erotic, vampy era of the 20s—is the perfect shade for the seductive spirit. 

In honor of her glam new lippie, Dita sat down with Haute Living to discuss the true meaning of glamour, her beauty routine and what she does every single day to feel gorgeous.

 What beauty essentials do you have in your purse? 

My lipstick, lipliner and a powder compact.

What beauty rule do you live and die by? 

I live and die by glamour. Glamour is about the art of creation. It’s not about what you’re born with, it’s really about what you decide for yourself.

What do you do every single day to feel glamorous? 

I always spend a few minutes on beauty even if it’s just five mintues even if it’s just a sweep of face powder or twisting my my hair in a twist or a chignon. And red lipstick every day no matter what.
