Hands On The Maurice Lacroix Pontos S FC Barcelona Watch, A Limited Edition Made For Fans
Many luxury watch brands have partnerships in football because of the popularity of the sport and the interest professional players have been showing in timepieces of late. But somewhat surprisingly, it’s Maurice Lacroix who has scored the biggest name in football. The new partnership with FC Barcelona represents a huge coup for a brand that wasn’t born when FC Barcelona signed Johan Cruyff from Ajax for a then record-breaking fee of £920,000.
In honor of this new partnership, Maurice Lacroix has unveiled four new models, ranging a quartz chronograph to the FCB Masterpiece Squelette, one of the brand’s most complicated watches. But the highlight of the collection is a limited edition Pontos S chronograph, featuring the distinctive winding crown and push pieces of the brand’s most iconic sports watch.
With the FC Barcelona crest featuring on all angles of the watch, front, back, and sideways, there’s no mistaking who this watch was designed for: the fans. Luckily for Maurice Lacroix, FC Barcelona has one of the largest fan bases in world according to Digital Sports Media. Football fans have always worn their pride on their sleeve. So why not do it literally with a watch dedicated to their team?
