Haute Scene NYC: Dr. Oz Lends Support to Harboring Hearts

On Wednesday, Sept. 29^th Harboring Hearts co-founder Michelle Javian welcomed over 150 supporters to CORE Club for the charity’s third annual benefit. The event, which took place on World Heart Day, honored Ogden CAP Properties, LLC co-founder Constance Milstein and New York- Presbyterian Hospital Surgical Director Dr. Hiroo Takayama. Both Milstein and Takayama were awarded for their tireless philanthropic work and support of heart patients and their families during their critical time of need.

The event was hosted by Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing star Ryan Serhant. Serhant thanked the night’s honorees including the CJM Foundation and benefit chairs Abby Elbaum, Celeste Guth, Austin Hoffman, Joanna Milstein, Dr. Allan Schwartz and Dr. Craig Smith for their contributions to the cause. Other honorees include Harboring Hearts beneficiaries Daquain Jenkins, Evelyn Vargas and her daughter Izabella Saliche, which all were recognized for their courage and perseverance.

Guests enjoyed desserts provided by Dog Tag Bakery, Mere Violas Sweet Delights, Lady M., Baked by Melissa, Tu-Lu’s Gluten Free Bakery and Wei of Chocolate. Dr. Oz served as the night’s auctioneer, aiding in the charity raising over $400,000.

Tony Award-winning singer Nikki M. James, accompanied by pianist Michael Moritz Jr. and Jimmy Leahey on guitar, closed out the evening
