ONE Sotheby’s has bought one of the largest independent Miami Beach brokerages, South Beach International Realty, or SBI. SBI is lead by power-realtor Diane Lieberman and has offices at 1680 Meridian Avenue and $300 million in annual sales. The offices will be come part of ONE Sotheby’s as will SBI’s 70 agents.

“It’s going to be a wonderful addition to ONE Sotheby’s,” Daniel de la Vega, president of One Sotheby’s, said to Real Deal. “We’re really excited to have Diane and her entire team on board with One Sotheby’s.” She will, in fact, become the Vice President of ONE Sotheby’s.  Lieberman has indicated that she thinks ONE Sotheby’s is the best firm to buy SBI and take her team to the next level in South Florida’s competitive real estate game.” I look forward to leading one of the most prestigious brokerage firms in South Florida while implementing tactical strategies concentrated on increasing sales volume, while having the international platform behind me.”

The acquisition is an important because it is part of a trend and SBI was one of the few remaining independent Miami Beach-based brokerages.  Majestic Properties got acquired in 2014 by Douglas Elliman, and Mark Zilbert‘s Zilbert International Realty got acquired last June by Brown Harris.

In Diane Lieberman, ONE Sotheby is getting more than an established broker, they are getting someone who works with celebrities as her client list has included Ivana Trump, Chris Bosh and actor Kelsey Grammar.
