Fans of Elissa got their fill of the Lebanese star when she made a special appearance last week for the opening night of ‘World of Fashion’ at Mall of the Emirates, Majid Al Futtaim’s premium fashion and lifestyle destination. The evening featured a live conversation between the Lebanese singer and TV host, Daniella Rahme, and a fashion show of the latest Autumn/Winter collections by multi-brand concept Etoile “la boutique.”
Mall of the Emirates’ Central Galleria transformed into the House of Bazaar, a chic house bringing the Harper’s Bazaar Arabia magazine to life and celebrating the iconic retail destination’s 10th anniversary. Featured was an innovative and dynamic residential setting, allowing style mavens and beauty lovers to admire the visually stunning backdrop. As visitors wandered through the dressing room, boudoir, gallery, wellness retreat, and garden of the house, they were able to receive a first-hand look at the Autumn/Winter fashion, beauty, and design trends that will influence the region’s style-setters in the coming year.
Taking the form of a beautiful walk-in wardrobe, The Dressing Room included everything from evening and daywear, to bags, shoes, and other fashion accessories. Guests were able to opt for private styling sessions from some of the best-dressed experts in town, including Rosemin Manji. In addition, video tutorials ran throughout ‘World of Fashion,’ highlighting tips and tricks for visitors on how to achieve the latest looks.
After The Dressing Room, guests moved into The Boudoir, a space dedicated to hair and beauty. Here visitors were able to watch Armani’s Middle Eastern make-up artists demonstrate their beauty skills on a model, as they browsed hair displays, product presentations, and video tutorials, alongside fine jewellery and accessories.
Next, in The Gallery, a dedicated art space brought together the realms of fashion and culture by hosting the exclusive and interactive pop up studio of renowned artist eL Seed. Known for his distinct style in mixing traditional Arabic calligraphy and street art, alongside captivating film screenings, here visitors had the opportunity to meet the artist and see a selection of his sculptures, works on canvas and wall calligraffiti.
Finally, guests were provided with a moment to slow down at The Wellness Retreat, where they were educated on the practice of good eating habits, with 10-minute healthy cooking tutorials, as well as an insight into the world of wellness, recipe inspiration, and the latest in sports luxe fashion.
An enriching and interactive experience it was, the outside space referred to as The Garden, an intimate space offering just 60 seats, was also home to live discussions and performances between renowned artists including Elissa, eLSeed, Megan Hess and Joanna Broomfield.
