MIA: SUSHISAMBA & Ana Quincoces Celebrate Summer With The Best of BBQ

As any true Miamian knows, there are few things better during summertime than a refreshing cocktail, good company and a delicious grilled meal. Hearing their call, SUSHISAMBA Coral Gables and Executive Chef David Sears kicked off a special “Robata Rub Thursdays” Guest Host Series this past July — heating up summer nights with special 5-course menus of hot-off-the-grill fare, celebrity guest chefs and tips and tricks for making your own grilled masterpieces at home. And since there’s nothing more Miami than a Real Housewives of Miami star, this past week, Ana Quincoces, who has since gained fame for her “Skinny Latina Million Dollar Marinade,” joined the fun.

With both Ana Quincoces and Chef David working hand-in-hand to create a collaborative menu of robata grill favorites, Thursday night’s dinner included tasty specialties like Grilled Hass Avocado, Alaskan Crab Leg, Sausage Anticucho, Robata Grilled Skirt Steak and Grilled Summer Peaches. And while guests enjoyed their made-to-order dishes and Ocucaje Peruvian Pisco cocktail pairings, both culinary masters joined together to share insider-tips on how to grill, marinate and make Japanese BBQ rubs like the pros.

Equal parts fun, tasty and informative, this second installment of the series — the first of which featured Terry Zarikian, Culinary Director of New York Wine & Food Festival and Culinary Advisor of South Beach Wine & Food Festival — was a unique addition to Miami’s thriving summer food scene.

Just in time for Miami Spice, which the restaurant is also participating in, this series offers guests a new kind of prix-fixe menu: one with more courses, a personal chef, haute grilling tips, and all the BBQ favorites you could ask for.
