Inside the Mercy for Animals Hidden Heroes Gala

On Saturday evening, Academy Award-nominated actors, musical icons, and television legends came together in a bid to stop animal cruelty at the 2015 Mercy for Animals Hidden Heroes Gala.
Mercy for Animals (for those who are unfamiliar), an organization that seeks to protect farmed animals, hosted its annual benefit in support of the work of its brave undercover investigators.
Celebrities in attendance at the black tie gala, which was held at Unici Casa in Culver City, included Joaquin Phoenix—who attended with sisters Rain and Summer—Moby, Pamela Anderson—who attended with sons Brandon and Dylan—Emily Deschanel, Daisy Fuentes, Russell Simmons, Tony Kanal, Jennifer Tilly, Tricia Helfer, Diane Warren, John Salley and Nathan Runkle (President of Mercy For Animals).
Three-time Academy Award nominee Joaquin Phoenix, Bones star Emily Deschanel, and music icon Moby presented awards and Pamela Anderson gave very special presentation of the organization’s Sam Simon Award, named after The Simpsons creator, Sam Simon, who succumbed to cancer earlier this year.
Guests noshed on vegan eats from Spork foods at the charity event.
