Fashion Blogger Nick Wooster’s Fave NYC Hot Spots

day1Nick_backyardbill

Fashion blogger and menswear icon, Nick Wooster knows New York like the back of his hand. This guy is confident in his skin and it shows. Maybe its because he worked for the top fashion houses and retailers on the globe like Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Barneys New York, Calvin Klein, Thom Browne and Ralph Lauren.  This street savvy guy even modeled at the recent New York Fashion Week Mens and was hired as an ambassador by Cadillac to introduce them to the world of fashion—they were the sponsor for the recent New York Fashion Week Mens. His latest gig is a capsule clothing collection in partnership with them. Yes you heard right!  So who better to get stylish tips from for those looking for a hole-in-the wall shop or a quiet neighborhood restaurant? We reached out to this man of the world to get his secret hot spots. It’s no surprise that he’s heavy on the shopping.

Favorite restaurant:
I Sodi in the West Village is my goto spot. I love Italian food especiallyTuscan-style cuisine. Their tiny, intimate dining room helps me unwind after a busy day and the staff is always welcoming.

Favorite shops:
Holland and Sherry Bespoke in Nolita is a hidden gem and one of my favorite stores in the world. Not many people know this but they’ve been supplying local tailors and brands with quality cloth for over 150 years.

IF in SoHo has an amazing selection of designer items. The sales team there knows a great deal about fashion and are passionate about what they sell.

Nepenthes in Midtown is super unique. I always end up finding something cool and interesting there. 3

Dover Street Market New York is a beautiful concept store created by Rei Kawakubo of Comme Des Garcons. The store is a multi-level shopping experience unlike any other.

Barneys New York doesn’t really need an introduction, does it?

Favorite lounge or bar: Alcoholics Anonymous. Jokes apart, I don’t drink.

Favorite active sport; I avoid it—I am too busy to even think about exercising.

Off the Grid:  Fire Island Pines is my perfect escape from NYC on weekends. Beautiful beaches, great restaurants and fun people – exactly what I need after a crazy New York week.
