Usher is big on giving back, and he proved it on Thursday night as he attended the launch of Yoobi X Usher, a new back-to-school collection that mixes street smarts with school smarts.  As a longtime advocate of improving kids’ lives through education, Usher shares Yoobi’s belief that every child in the U.S. should have the basic tools for creative expression. For every item purchased, Yoobi donates an item to a classroom in need in the U.S.

The musician was joined at the Siren Studios-held soiree by visual artist Jonni Cheatwood, who helped to curate the line, and Yoobi co-founder Ido Leffler.

Usher’s collection features notebooks splattered in pink and green emblazoned with the singer’s signature, writing utensil cases, a lanyard and blue “drippies” pencils.

Said Usher of the collaboration, “Giving a child an education is by far one of the most important investments we can make—and it starts with the right tools.”

Together with the Kids In Need Foundation, Yoobi has impacted more than 700,000 kids nationwide. In June 2015, Yoobi opened its first retail store at the Westfield Santa Anita Mall in Los Angeles, CA. The store features a hyper-localized giveback: for every Yoobi item purchased in the store, one will be donated to a local classroom in the greatest need within a 10-mile radius.
