Haute Spots: Buddha-Bar Dubai Plans Pre-Renovation Bash
Buddha-Bar Dubai is about to shut down until the middle of October, but the trendy venue is holding a two-day party to say goodbye in style. Will any A-listers be in attendance?
If you enjoy celebrity watching, you may want to visit the Buddha-Bar Dubai at Grosvenor House. While Dubai itself is a hot spot known for drawing celebrities, there are certain places within the city that some of the world’s biggest stars frequent, and Buddha-Bar is on that list. The legendary venue’s Asian-inspired décor and self-described “Electro-Ethnic rhythms and tribal sounds” have drawn in A-listers from all over the world, including Amr Diab, Kareena Kapoor, Will Smith, and David Beckham.

Time is short if you want to see the bar in its current state, however, as the bar will be closing down for renovations. To celebrate, Buddha-Bar Dubai is hosting a massive bash on Thursday and Friday prior to the lavish renovation. The festivities begin at 9 p.m., and you might want to consider making a reservation, which you can do here. DJs Galss Coffee and Ravin will be providing the music on Thursday and Friday respectively. The renovations will run from July 25 through mid-October.

The most striking feature of Buddha-Bar Dubai is the massive gilded Buddha statue. It’s hard to imagine that the statue will be gone after the venue is refurbished, but it’s anyone’s guess what the venue will look like after the designers have had their way with it. It’s possible the menu will also be freshened up, but will likely still include the tastes of China, Japan and Thailand along with fresh seasonal sidebars from Arabia. Buddha-Bar also has its own resident DJs to set the tone each night.

There’s more than just a nightclub at Buddha-Bar Dubai, as there is also a spa connected to the brand. B/Attitude Spa Dubai takes the ambiance of the Buddha Bar and translates it into a luxurious spa. The walls are covered in artwork from all over Asia, and there are even some exquisite-looking kimonos on display along with the frescos and Asian-style statues. The spa offers 12 treatment rooms in the chakra colors. Treatments include everything from face and body care to manicures and pedicures, hydrotherapy, and even private coaching sessions.

Buddha-Bar Dubai isn’t the only location of course, as this is a massive chain of branded bars, hotels, and spas located in the world’s most fashionable cities.
