Haute Scene: Victor Espinoza Makes Exclusive Appearance at KTCHN

Prior to the 2015 Belmont Stakes, American thoroughbred horse jockey Victor Espinoza made an exclusive appearance prior at KTCHN in The OUT Hotel in NYC.

At KTCHN, Espinoza accompanied by horse owners Sheila Rosenblum and Larry Roman as well as event marketer Herb Karlitz for the unveiling of a portrait of Espinoza with American Pharoah by artist Susan Sommer-Luarca. The portrait will benefit The Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF).

WNBC sports anchor Bruce Beck, who emceed the event sponsored by David Noto and Altaneve Prosecco, introduced Espinoza to the crowd. During Beck’s introduction he noted the 43-year-old athlete is in the ranks of becoming the world’s greatest athletes on the brink of making history with a Triple Crown victory riding American Pharoah at the forthcoming Belmont Stakes.

He then spoke about the importance of the cause everyone came out for, raising awareness and funds for PDJF.  Horse owner Larry Roman committed to placing a $10,000 bet on American Pharoah to benefit the PDJF.

Following his grand introduction, Espinoza got on the microphone to thank everyone in attendance and across the world for their support.

He told guests that he hoped the third time would be the charm in racing to a Triple Crown victory, the first in 35 years.  He joked that he’d do everything differently since his last two tries were unsuccessful.
