New membership-based aviation company Wheels Up has announced it will be sponsoring the thoroughbred racehorse American Pharaoh and horse jockey Victor Espinoza.
As a results of this newly formed partnership, you may have seen Wheels Up logos on the pant legs of American Pharoah’s horse jockey Victor Espinoza as well as logos present at the historic Triple Crown Run, where the American thoroughbred and horse jockey made history becoming the first horse in 37 years to sweep the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and the 2015 Belmont Stakes.
In a press release, Kenny Dichter, Founder and CEO of Wheels Up said, “We are excited to add American Pharoah and Jockey Victor Espinoza to our growing list of Wheels Up Ambassadors. They are in great company with other Member Ambassadors including Rickie Fowler, J.J. Watt, Kirk Herbstreit and Erin Andrews. Once people start to wear the Wheels Up colors, the magic happens; winners fly Wheels Up.”
Owner of the American Pharoah, Ahmed Zayat is also thrilled about the new partnership with Wheels Up. He said, “Team American Pharoah shares the same goals and vision as Wheels Up as we look to soar into the Winner’s Circle on Saturday.”
The American Pharoah indeed soared into the winner’s circle on Saturday in one of the rarest feat, becoming the 12th horse and first since affirmed in 1978 to win three races on different tracks at varying distances over the span of five weeks.
The deal was headed by NYC-based Leverage Agency, who handles all sales and marketing for the American Pharoah.
