With spring just around the corner, It’s still not too late to start planning a glamorous ski vacation, but if the thought of staying at the same drab cabin or resort has you dreading the yearly sojourn to the mountain, Norway’s new and unusual luxury penthouse might give your next ski vacation a fresh shot of adrenaline.

As part of an oddball competition hosted by Airbnb, a room inside the world-famous Holmenkollen ski-jump in Oslo was transformed into a haute luxury penthouse. Guests will get to enjoy panoramic views of Oslo and bask in the glow of the northern lights.

If the sky-scrapping penthouse wasn’t cool enough, actually reaching the slopes might be even cooler. Guests can zip-line down to the base of the jump when they want to go skiing. “This is a wonderfully quirky idea coming to life, and a perfect way to round off the ski jump season after the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup,” says Jeanette Hansen, who’s in charge of operations at Holmenkollen.

The penthouse also features an outdoor balcony, a candle-lit dinner, and cute decor chosen by a local designer. “It’s a great way to showcase one of the top tourist destinations in Norway to a world of travellers, and we can’t wait to welcome the guests to arguably the penthouse with the best view of our city,” continues Hansen.

Two lucky winners will be able to bring a friend to enjoy one night each at the beguiling new penthouse.
