Yvonne Niami is a woman who has built her life on creating apparel that has a purpose. She is the founder of n:philanthropy, a line dedicated to making a difference—not just in the way its designs make you feel, but also making a difference in the world around you. “Giving back is so close to my heart—as is fashion—and I think everyone is born to do something good in this world,” says Niami. “We all have it in us, and my calling (I feel) is to help others.” Niami launched n:philanthropy in Los Angeles and partnered with creative director Alexandre Caugant who brings in a fresh European twist from his French heritage and an eye for fashion forward creations that lie at the intersection of uptown luxury and downtown cool. The brand not only has rich fabrics and unique designs, but also is the perfect feel good fashion with proceeds benefitting to pediatric cancer and animal abuse. Best place for a power business meeting: I like to meet at Cecconi’s West Hollywood. The energy is always so good there and the decor is amazing.
If you have out of town guests, which hotel would you recommend? The Peninsula Beverly Hills; the service is great there.
Favorite shopping venue/boutique: Barneys, Neimans and Scoop is always fun.
Favorite place to buy jewelry/watches: Tiffanys. They treat you like a queen—amazing customer service.
Best Spa: I had a great experience at the Caudalie Spa. Their products are made from wine!
Favorite Charity Event: We are huge supporters of Children’s Hospital LA and SPCALA. n:philanthropy gives back 10% of our profits to both of these amazing charities.
Best Pizza: Cecconi’s West Hollywood
Best Lunch: I love really good Chinese food.
Best Gym/Athletic Facility: I never go to any gyms. I work out at home—I do yoga or Jillian Michaels videos; depends on what I’m in the mood for.
Best Massage: Caudalie Spa
Best Limousine/Driving Service: Uber, lol
Describe your city in three words: Good energy, laid back, great weather!
All-around favorite spot in Los Angeles: I love The Grove. It’s all open, the architecture is beautiful, you can shop, dine, and see a movie.
Best Aspect of Los Angeles: Friendly, good people, always something to do.
