Karen Millen Launches Virtual London Flagship
What’s better than refurbishing your 8000 sq ft flagship in the heart of London’s exclusive Knightsbridge area? For Karen Millen, the answer is an all-access pass to this store, 24-hours a day, through a new virtual concept, which is now available for eager fans of the brand.
Powered by Avenue Imperial, the online experience, named ‘Shop Knightsbridge,’ allows users to step into the flagship from the comfort of their own homes and explore the store as if they were physically browsing items through the use of intuitive tools and viewpoints. Enabled by 3D technology and panoramic vistas, customers can zoom in and out of areas of the store and also share snapshots of items of interest. If something takes your fancy, simply click on it to get a product description and a link directing you to its immediate purchase. With the Christmas rush fast approaching, this is sure to be a game-changing retail innovation that many will be more than grateful for.
For Karen Millen however, Shop Knightsbridge is just another step to becoming a more customer-friendly brand that adapts to the increasingly hectic lifestyle of its clients. And sometimes, seeing items in an online e-commerce gallery simply doesn’t cut it. Subsequently, Karen Millen is stepping up its game by using technology already common in mapping and architecture to create a standout virtual shopping experience, whilst retaining the thrill of walking around a physical store. “We’re really excited about the potential for new technology to create a highly engaging, differentiated client experience and Shop Knightsbridge is the perfect example of that,” explains Mike Shearwood, Chief Executive of Karen Millen. “This is an exciting evolution of our flagship strategy and an important step in our ambition to become the world’s leading accessible luxury fashion brand.”
