‘Dubai Creek Harbour’ to House the World’s Tallest Twinned Skyscrapers

Developers Emaar Properties and Dubai Holdings have unveiled their joint master plan for “Dubai Creek Harbour”—a massive six million-square-meter district on the Dubai waterfront, the centerpiece of which will be the world’s tallest twinned skyscrapers.

The height of the pair of rocket-shaped buildings has yet to be confirmed, but the design reveals an area three times the size of Emaar’s previous Downtown Dubai development, home to the Burj Khalifa, the world’s current tallest tower.

A statement from Emaar said, “Planned on an open site, Dubai Creek Harbour will combine the city with the natural contours of the creek. With no legacy ties to infrastructure, this new Dubai will leapfrog many of the world’s other global cities. The masterplan is an order of magnitude larger than Downtown Dubai and will support its commercial and cultural development.”

While the architect has not yet been named for the development—which will encompass six residential towers, 39,000 homes and 22 hotels—the first residences are being pre-sold in early November. The start date has yet to be set for construction of the twin towers.

The Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary—home to around 450 different animal species—is right next to the site of Dubai Creek Harbour, and Emaar has vowed to keep it intact, with the masterplan outlining a new visitor center that would bring “a message of sustainable biodiversity to new generations.”
