Haute Living Celebrates Westime Opening at Nikita Malibu

With its floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Nikita Malibu, Larry Ellison’s Carbon Beach restaurant, was the backdrop for an intimate dinner party on Wednesday, July 30, that celebrated the partnership and possibilities among Malibu’s luxury businesses.

Hosted by Haute Living CEO Kamal Hotchandani and Westime CEO John Simonian, the event honored the grand opening of high-end watch boutique Westime’s new Malibu location and Haute Living Los Angeles’s just-debuted July/August 2014 Malibu issue, which features Nikita Malibu. “John Simonian of Westime is a true visionary in the luxury market,” said Hotchandani, whose media network also publishes the Haute Time imprint, which is dedicated to luxury watches. “With the opening of Westime Malibu, let us toast John at the hautest spot in Malibu, Nikita Malibu.”

Guests included Hublot Global CEO Ricardo Guadalupe, artist Mr. Brainwash, Malibu top realtor Irene Dazzan-Palmer, Malibu Vineyards owner Jim Palmer, and philanthropist Nikita Kahn.

Nikita Malibu’s executive chef, Salvatore Sodano, prepared the menu that showcased Nikita favorites such as the popular poached salmon and filet mignon. Cuvée Dom Pérignon Rosé, Moét et Chandon, Champagne, France 2003 was served, and the restaurant’s wine director, Renée-Nicole Kubin, selected exclusive wines Puligny-Montrachet, Vincent Giardin, Les Vieilles Vignes, Burgundy, France 2010 and Margaux, Château Desmirail, Bordeux, France 2009, a third growth Bordeaux from the classification of 1855.
