Haute Event: FIT Foundation Annual Awards Gala
Last night The Fashion Institute of Techology and FIT Foundation hosted their Annual Awards Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street (110 East 42nd Street). Dr. Jay H. Baker, Linda Fargo and Joan Hornig were the guests of honor.
It was a special evening for honoree and FIT Trustee, Joan Hornig, who wore a custom-designed dress by the talented FIT alumna Cristina Ottaviano. While striking a pose for the red carpet, guests sipped on Cipriani’s signature bellinis.
Atendees included Iris Alpfel, Alber Elbaz (Presenter), Linda Fargo (Honoree), Dr. Jay Baker (Honoree), Dr. Joyce Brown, Joan Hornig (Honoree), Amsale Aberra, Dennis Basso, Caren Brooks, Hamish Bowles, Maria Buccellati, Lucrezia Buccellati, Alina Cho, Alfonso Dolce, Ken Downing, Julia Erdman, Nina Garcia, Prabal Gurung, Carolina Herrera, Naeem Khan, Jessica Jaffe, Steven Kolb, Reed Krakoff, Adam Lippes, Jacqui Lividini, Marigay McKee, Federica Marchionni, Tamara Mellon, Josie Natori, Cristina Ottaviano, Stefano Tonchi, David Maupin, Adrienne Vittadini, and Diane von Furstenberg.
Honorees received their awards during the scrumptious lobster salad and prime rib dinner. Designer Albert Ebaz, who presented Linda Fargo with her award, gave us a wonderful and emotional speech. Dr. Jay H. Baker was generous enough to donate one million dollars to encourage guests support the FIT. Last but not least, a scholarship was named after Joan Hornig.
