Haute Event: The 13th Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball

The 13th annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball transformed the Mandeville Canyon home of Susan Harris and Hayward Kaiser into a glamorous space for haute Hollywood to spread their wings, so to speak.

Over 650 guests gathered for a chic evening benefitting the non-profit organization’s effort to help individuals out of poverty and homelessness by providing the tools necessary to gain employment.

Before the 2014 awards were handed out, guests met and mingled during a cocktail hour and dined on a gourmet dinner, which was followed by performances by Gavin Rossdale and Karmin.

But the real focus of the evening was on charity, and the evening’s recipients. The Spirit of Chrysalis Award winners included Jeff Skoll (Founder) & Jim Berk (CEO) of Participant Media as well as Jay Sures, Managing Director, United Talent Agency. The event also celebrated Chrysalis client Darius Coffey, who received the John Dillon Award.

Attendees at the haute bash included co-chairs Rebecca Gayheart-Dane, Rick Hess, Donna Langley and Richard Weitz, as well as Al Gore, Eric Dane, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Diane Kruger, Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, James Van Der Beek, Ben Feldman, Ben McKenzie, Tom Arnold, Katharine McPhee, Vanna White, Soleil Moon Frye, Jason Goldberg, Steve Levitan, Balthazar Getty and Rosetta Getty.
