The Natural Resources Defense Council threw an environmentally-friendly bash on Thursday evening with its Thought for Food benefit, which celebrated safe and sustainable eating.
Amber Valletta, Isabel Lucas, Aloe Blacc, Michael Richards, Teddy Sears, Adan Canto, Alan Horn and Ron Meyer were among the guests who enjoyed the sourced farm‐to‐table dinner, which, fittingly, took place at the site of the City’s Main Street Farmers Market in Santa Monica.
The event was truly a green production in every way. The food served was organic, sustainably harvested and 100% vegetarian; the edible/living centerpieces are being replanted and/or donated to a local school; invites and programs were on 100% post-consumer recycled content paper using plant based inks and waste from the event is being composted.
In addition to doing something good for the environment, guests enjoyed a performance by Aloe Blacc, who performed hits such as “Wake Me Up”, I Need a Dollar” and “Love is the Answer.”
The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is an international nonprofit environmental organization with more than 1.4 million members and online activists. Since 1970, its lawyers, scientists, and other environmental specialists have worked to protect the world’s natural resources, public health, and the environment.
