Maleficent, as played by Angelina Jolie, is a good girl gone bad, a misunderstood sorceress. She is dark, mysterious and wickedly misunderstood – the antithesis to Sleeping Beauty’s protagonist, Aurora. But when you’re making a movie about the villain, the ensuing paraphernalia can’t be sweetness and light in pastel shades of pink and yellow. “Love” isn’t the first thing that came to mind when applying this lipstick. This is a “notice me, I’ve arrived” shade. Though sensuous, this “clean, bright red” is still classic, and can dress up even the drabbest of ensembles (like a cloak, perhaps?).
