In a touching tribute to her “number one fan,” Beyoncé sent 90 white roses to the family of Chelsea Lee James, a 15-year-old Australian girl who recently lost her longtime fight with leukemia on April 21. “Love and prayers to you and your family,” the pop star wrote in her letter to the girl’s family.

The pair first met in 2009, when Bey invited James on stage and sang her an emotional rendition of “Halo.” Four years later, Beyoncé invited James and her mother to a concert during her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour and the two posed for pictures together backstage. The “Single Ladies” singer even reportedly texted James following their meet up and promised that the two would get together again the next time she was in Australia.

“Chelsea was a beautiful girl and I am so happy I was able to meet her,” Beyoncé revealed after learning of the young girl’s passing. “She touched my heart. I will never forget her.”
