Fred Segal Lifestyle Centers Opening Across America

There’s big changes in store for the Fred Segal brand now that former David Yurman and Juicy Couture CEO Paul Blum and Evolution Media Partners have taken over.

The company’s new partners are planning to reinvent the California-centric brand by building 10 major “lifestyle centers” across the United States over the course of the next five to seven years.

These centers have whiffs of a Caruso Affiliated project like The Grove: the 10,000 – 50,000 square foot developments will combine fashion, dining, entertainment, cultural events, and health and wellness programs for the all-encompassing lifestyle experience.

Fred Segal has certainly made some changes since parent company Sandow took over in 2012; the company hired Evolution Media Partners as an investor in the company. Evolution’s partners include CAA; TPG Growth; and Participant Media, the global entertainment company founded in 2004 by Jeff Skoll.

Recent changes include the luxe new Fred Segal location at the recently renovated luxury Tom Bradley International Terminal at L.A.X., the imminent opening of seven Segal–branded stores in the SLS Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, which opens this August, marking the first time a single brand partner has occupied all of the retail space in a hotel, and a new Fred Segal concept store that is slated to open in Japan next year.
