New York’s biggest and brightest stars joined forces with Jaeger-LeCoultre and the Film Society of Lincoln Center to honor Rob Reiner as the recipient of the 41st Annual Chaplin Award. Carmen Chaplin, Charlie Chaplin‘s granddaughter, came out for the occasion, which also paid tribute to her grandfather who was the first emblematic figure of cinema to be awarded by the Film Society of Lincoln Center.
Following a montage of movie and interview clips celebrating the expansive career of the celebrated director, producer, actor, and political activist, Martin Scorsese took the stage to present Reiner with the coveted Chaplin Award. Notable attendees included Billy Crystal, Michael Douglas, Michael McKean, Meg Ryan.
In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Chaplin’s character from “The Little Tramp,” a unique photographic exhibition entitled “Chaplin Forever!” is currently on display at the Film Society of Lincoln Center until May 4.
