Mother’s Day is right around the corner and children everywhere are scrambling to find the perfect gift for that special lady in their lives, I know I am. It’s hard to find the “perfect gift,” it may even be impossible but I think I have found something that is pretty close. As I was preparing a list of Mother’s Day brunches/dinners I came across the five star Langham Chicago’s impressive Mother’s Day offerings. They have a couple different options, with the first being an incredible afternoon tea service at the Pavilion Lounge. Pastry Chef Scott Green has created a tasty menu with savory and sweet treats, including edible flowers. If you try and book this afternoon tea online it may appear to be completely booked, but a little birdie told me that there are still available spaces for those that call (312-923-7710). That’s just the tip of the iceberg, you can also spoil the Mom in your life with special hotel packages, treatments at Chaun Spa and gourmet brunch at the much-praised Travelle. “Dear Mom” Guestroom Package

This year, treat mom to The Langham, Chicago’s “Dear Mom” package, available only on May 10 and 11, 2014. Starting at $459 per night, this perfect package features overnight accommodations, a bouquet of pink roses, and a bottle of champagne. Moms can also enjoy one of the best views in the city while sipping a Pink Taxi specialty cocktail in the hotel’s Travelle lounge throughout the entire month of May.

Additionally, $50 from each package purchased is contributed to the Susan G. Komen “Race for a Cure” Mother’s Day Run, taking place on May 11 at Chicago’s Grant Park. As a “Race for the Cure” sponsor, The Langham Chicago is featuring the hotel’s vintage pink British taxi will be stationed at the race.

Mother’s Day Club Lounge Package

Adding more indulgence to her day, moms can pamper themselves with the Mother’s Day Club Lounge Package featuring overnight accommodations, a complimentary skin treatment by Amore Pacific, and a makeup application from Neiman Marcus in a club room on Saturday, May 10. Additional package elements include a $50 gift certificate from Neiman Marcus and such Club Lounge services as dedicated butler service including: a drawn bath, cooked breakfast; all-day refreshments; and three clothing items pressed upon check in. Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea at Pavilion Lounge

Sip on Springtime Tiffin Tea at The Langham’s Pavilion Lounge this Mother’s Day, where Executive Chef Anthony Zamora and Executive Pastry Chef Scott Green offer a teatime menu bursting with color and sprinkled with edible flowers. Guests can indulge in this classic afternoon ritual by noshing on menu items including Rock Shrimp Rillettes with English peas, morel mushrooms, and micro orchids, Coronation Chicken Salad with marcona almonds and celery flowers, and Violet Noir Éclair with crystallized violet petals.  To celebrate the occasion, a glass of glass of Prosecco will be offered complimentary to each guest.

The pre-fixe entrée menu includes appetizers such as Smoked Salmon served with a poached egg and asparagus, followed by a main course including the Petit Filet with olive oil crushed potato, and spring onion.
