Lululemon Launches In London

Lululemon – the Canadian fashion fitness brand that’s loved by the A-list likes of Scarlett Johansson and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley – has launched its first European branch in London’s Covent Garden.

The celebrity favourite has opened a 3,100 sq ft outlet on Long Acre and aims to open a second branch in Chelsea by the end of the year.

The launch of the Long Acre site was marked by a mass yoga event which saw 400 lycra-clad Londoners performing the downward dog to live orchestra music at the Royal Opera House.

The brand, founded in 1998 in Vancouver, has big European expansion plans. Lululemon would like to open up to 30 stores in Britain over the next five years, followed by Europe.

Lululemon is most famous for its yoga apparel but the brand says it can adapt its range in the UK to cater for popular British sports such as tennis and rugby.
