Eva Longoria is slated to receive this year’s major honor at Women in Film’s annual Crystal + Lucy Awards.
The Desperate Housewives star and producer will be recognized with the Norma Zarky Humanitarian Award. The award is presented to individuals who, like Zarky, have demonstrated enlightened support for the advancement of equal opportunity for all and devotion to the improvement of the human condition.
Longoria will accept the honor on June 11 at a benefit gala to be held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.
Others who will take home trophies that evening include Cate Blanchett, Kerry Washington,Rose Byrne and Frozen director Jennifer Lee.Â
Blanchett, who recently won her second Oscar for her role in Blue Jasmine, will receive the Crystal Award for Excellence in Film while Scandal star Washington will receive the Lucy Award for Excellence in Television.
Byrne will be honored with the Women in Film Max Mara “Face of the Future” award, which last year was won by Hailee Steinfeld, while Lee will receive the Dorothy Arzner Directors Award.
Said WIF LA President Cathy Schulman: “The women we are honoring this year represent the best, the brightest and the bravest among us. We are proud to celebrate their achievements and their contributions.”
