Los Angeles Celebrates the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival

The Tribeca Film Festival may take place in Los Angeles, but that insignificant detail didn’t prevent LA-based celebs from celebrating its arrival.

To cap off the New York-based festival, a slew of stars, filmmakers and executives headed to the Beverly Hilton’s Stardust Penthouse on Monday evening to kick off the 2014 festival.

Notables at the reception included Tribeca Enterprises President and COO Jon Patricof, CCO Geoffrey Gilmore, TFF Artistic Director Frederic Boyer, TFF Director of Programming Genna Terranova and TFF Programmer Cara Cusumano.

They were joined by filmmakers and directors who will premiere their new films in April, of whom included Courteney Cox, who is making her directorial debut with Just Before I Go and her boyfriend, music artist Johnny McDaid; the two met back in October after being introduced by mutual friend Ed Sheeran. 

The Mindy Project’s Chris Messina, who is making his directorial debut with Alex of Venice, also attended with  the film’s producer, Jamie Patricof.

Others premiering films at the upcoming TFF including Jennifer Grey (In Your Eyes, TFF 2014), Anton Yelchin (5 to 7, TFF 2014), Brian Geraghty (Actor and Executive Producer of Loitering with Intent, TFF 2014), Bérénice Marlohe (5 to 7, TFF 2014), Jason Ritter (About Alex, TFF 2014), Katie Nehra (actor and writer of Alex of Venice, TFF 2014), Callan McAuliffe (Beneath the Harvest Sky, TFF 2014), Barbara Hershey (Sister, TFF 2014), Robert Aguire (Boulevard, TFF 2014), Indigenous actors Lindsey McKeon and Sofia Pernas, Danielle Macdonald (Every Secret Thing, TFF 2014), Extraterrestrial actors Brittany Allen, Melanie Papalia, and Freddie Stroma, Zombeavers actors Lexi Atkins, Hutch Dano, Jake Weary, Cortney Palm and Peter Gilroy and Jon Huertas (Sequestered, TFF 2014),  among others.

Friends of the festival including Cash WarrenClark Gregg, Barry Primus, Gideon Yago, Nancy Savoca, James Lesure, Lindsay Burge, Rae Dawn Chong, Will Clay, Evan Cohen, David Rambo, Aaron Saidman, Nadine Velasquez, Cody Kennedy and Rebecca Cammisa also attended the intimate cocktail reception.
