Those seeking a haute weekend of art, food and wine will be happy to hear that LACMA’s annual Collectors Committee Weekend will once again be taking place this April.

The annual celebration will be held during the weekend of April 25-26, and will begin with private dinners prepared by celebrity chefs and paired with wines from acclaimed California vintners.

Over the course of the weekend, members will learn about artworks proposed for acquisition from the museum’s curators. The event will culminate in the Collectors Committee Gala, at which said members vote for which works they wish the museum acquire. Members also have a chance to bid on rare wines, works of art, and one-of-a-kind experiences at a live auction. LACMA trustee Viveca Paulin-Ferrell, who also happens to be the wife of comedian Will Ferrell, will serve as auctioneer.  Last year’s event raised $3.2 million; this year the plan is to exceed that number.

This year’s participants include chefs Josiah Citrin of Mélisse, Nobu Matsuhisa and Gregorio Stephenson, José Andrés and Aitor Zabala of The Bazaar & SAAM by José Andrés, Christopher Kostow of The Restaurant at Meadowood, Richard Reddington of REDD, Eddie Man Fai Wong of Mr. Chow Beverly Hills and Mario Carbone and Rich Torrisi of Carbone.

Participating vintners include Jessica and Wesley Steffens of Vineyard 7 & 8, Ann Colgin and Joe Wender of Colgin Cellars, Darioush Khaledi of Darioush, Deborah and H. William Harlan of Bond Estates, Beth Novak Milliken of Spottswoode Estate Vineyard & Winery, Jenny Pan of SLOAN ESTATE and David Pearson of Opus One.
