Drew Barrymore will be honored as Female Star of the Year by CinemaCon later this month.

CinemaCon is the official convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), and each year, names one female and one male celebrity apiece who have had spectacular achievements on the big screen.

Barrymore will receive her honor on March 27 at The Colosseum in Las Vegas at the CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards, the final day of the three-day event.

Of why Drew was to be honored, CinemaCon Managing Director Mitch Neuhauser said: “Is there anyone who isn’t in love with Drew Barrymore, one of the most captivating and incredibly talented actresses of our time? Her career is simply remarkable and to think the first two directors to take her under their wing at the respective ages of five and seven were Ken Russell and Steven Spielberg, is astonishing. And now, over three decades later, she continues to showcase her versatility. CinemaCon could not be more honored to present her with this year’s ‘Female Star of the Year Award.'”

The “Male Star of the Year” will go to a man Barrymore knows well: Adam Sandler, her upcoming star in the romantic comedy Blended.
