All eyes may have been on East London in the aftermath of the 2012 Olympic Games in Stratford, but fast forward to 2014 and it’s all change in the capital. West is best or so Dorsett Hospitality International has declared.
The Asia based hotel operator is set to open its first property in the UK (and Europe) later this year with the launch of Dorsett Shepherd’s Bush, London.
From May, the hotel will take over the 1923 Grade 11 listed Shepherds Bush Pavilion and will offer 317 room “Chinese inspired” – a nod to the group’s Asian origins and heritage – including 24 suites. All accommodation and will be equipped with complimentary high speed internet access.
Other amenities include an executive lounge, three meeting rooms, a spa and two upscale restaurants – a contemporary brasserie and an fine dining Chinese restaurant by an “established restaurateur.”
Hilary Cross, former general manager at K West Hotel & Spa, has been appointed general manager of Dorsett Shepherd Bush and says:
“I am delighted to be part of this extremely exciting London Hotel launch within the vibrant area of Shepherds Bush. Dorsett Shepherds Bush will offer easy access to numerous facilities and activities within the local area as well as fantastic transport links to the rest of London. Dorsett Shepherds Bush isn’t the only Dorsett hotel that be unleashed in London. A second property is planned for 2015 and the group aims to open 11 more hotels within the next two years not only in the UK but also in China and Hong Kong.
Other highly anticipated hotel openings in London this year include Shangri La at The Shard, Europe’s first Mondrian Hotel, Ham Yard Hotel by Tim and Kit Kemp (the owners of Firmdale Hotels) and The Beaumont – a first foray into the hotel industry from the respected restaurateurs Jeremy King and Chris Corbin.
