This is a milestone day for the newly opened downtown Ace Hotel, whose partnership with the L.A. Dance Project begins tonight.

The collaboration kicks off this week with three performances on February 20th, 21st and 22nd at the Theatre at Ace Hotel by none other than Natalie Portman‘s husband and LA Dance Project founder and choreographer Benjamin Millepied.

The program includes U.S. premieres of Reflections, choreographed by Millepied, with music by David Lang and visual concepts by Barbara Kruger, as well as Murder Ballads by Justin Peck with music by Bryce Dessner of The National and visual concepts by Sterling Ruby. These two works will be paired with an exclusive sneak-peek of a new piece by Hiroaki Umeda in preparation for its upcoming premiere in Paris in March 2014.

The new collaboration is an undertaking by both the Ace and Millepied to revitalize arts and culture in downtown Los Angeles.
