Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong has offered up his solution to ObamaCare by officially launching the health IT company NantHealth on Monday, a subsidiary of his medical technology company NantWorks.
The drug inventor turned entrepreneur also unveiled NantHealth’s intelligent Clinical Operating System (iCOS), which patients and physicians alike can use to pull data from dozens of electronic medical record systems in order to create a single profile of a patients’ medical history.
There is also a software component which will give doctors easy access to a database of 10,000 cancer clinical trials and 1,700 cancer therapies.
Soon-Shiong, who also happens to be a minority owner of the L.A. Lakers, has personally invested $800 million in 60 companies and university research programs that worked on each aspect of the operating system.
