Cate Blanchett & The Bolshoi Ballet To Perform at Lincoln Center Festival This Summer

The-Maids

The Lincoln Center Festival is always one of the hottest events of the summer season, and this year is shaping up to be no exception! Artists and ensembles from 11 countries are joining forces for the annual festival, which runs from July 7 through Aug. 16. The shows will be held in six venues on and off the Lincoln Center campus.

This year’s highlights include performances by Cate Blanchett, Bolshoi’s ballet, opera, chorus and orchestra companies, plus a innovative show from a Kabuki theater company from Japan. Blanchett, who received rave reviews for her 2012 festival performance, will star alongside Isabelle Huppert in Jean Genet‘s play “The Maids.”

Several top Bolshoi ballet dancers including Svetlana Zakharova, David Hallberg, Maria Alexandrova, Ekaterina Shipulina, Vladislav Lantratov, Olga Smirnova and Ekaterina Krysanova will also take the stage for “Swan Lake,” “Don Quixote” and “Spartacus.”

Festival tickets go on sale to donors of Lincoln Center on March 24 and the general public starting March 31.
