UBS is set to assume the new role of Global Lead Partner of Art Basel, reaffirming the investment banking company’s long and substantial record of engagement in contemporary art.

The partnership serves as a tribute to Art Basel’s expansion into Hong Kong and is also a continuation of UBS’s proud history with Art Basel. Having served as the main sponsor of the original show in Switzerland in 1994, followed by the inaugural Art Basel show in Miami Beach in 2002, UBS was with Basel from the start.

Home to one of the world’s most distinguished corporate art collections, UBS serves as an active partner in global contemporary art projects. The firm provides experience-based information and insight for investors and collectors through its UBS Arts Forum.

“We share a passion with our clients for contemporary art, and today, more than ever, our clients want to participate in this fast-growing and dynamic field,” said Jason Chandler, Head of the Wealth Management Advisor Group, UBS Wealth Management Americas. “Through our global partnership with Art Basel, we are uniquely positioned to help clients explore and collect by providing them with access to the world’s most respected galleries and artists.”

In light of the company’s increased involvement in Basel worldwide, UBS’s role this year at Miami’s Art Basel is bigger than ever before, showcasing a larger number of works including 11 diverse pieces by Latin American artists from the UBS Art Collection. Following the presentation in the UBS lounge at Art Basel, a number of works will be on view in local UBS branches in Miami.
